Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our Distribution Center team at Michaels Stores. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient processing of Inbound and Outbound freight, while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of functions in the Distribution Center environment, including Receiving, Labeling, Putaway, Order Picking, Slotting, Replenishment, and eComm order fulfillment.
  • Utilize manual and/or powered industrial equipment and/or RF guns to perform work tasks as needed.
  • Document production logs accurately to ensure productivity records are up-to-date.
  • Complete other assigned duties as needed to support business needs.
Requirements
  • Basic computer skills for certain roles.
  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
  • Basic math proficiency for certain roles.
  • Good record-keeping skills with attention to details for certain roles.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior use of manual and/or powered industrial equipment.
  • Basic warehouse and/or Distribution Center knowledge.
Work Environment
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures dependent on external climate and proximity to dock doors/exits.
  • Moderate noise level from DC conveyor/sortation system and powered industrial equipment.
  • Occasional vibration if/when operating powered industrial equipment.
  • Potential exposure to fumes and airborne particles.
