UPMC McKeesport is currently looking for a full-time MRI Imaging Specialist to cover various shifts, including days, evenings, and overnight schedules (with options for 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts). This role also includes Saturday duties and limited on-call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct imaging procedures at a technical level requiring minimal supervision.
- Execute a variety of technical tasks that necessitate independent judgment and creativity for diagnostic purposes.
- Rotate between two specialties as needed.

Patient Care:
- Uphold MR safety protocols within the department.
- Accurately identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocols during procedures.
- Review patient histories and assess physician orders, applying departmental protocols to ensure optimal data acquisition, including the preparation and administration of contrast.
- Document patient histories in electronic records as required.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to enhance patient care, demonstrating excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Maintain clinical competency across all exams and equipment.
- Show a willingness to learn new skills and educate others in their areas of expertise, serving as a resource for new hires and students.
- Exhibit flexibility to work across different clinical areas to meet departmental needs and ensure adequate staffing.
- Ensure proper coding and tracking of exams through the RIS system, maintaining updated patient information and accurate documentation in Rad Assessment.
- Interact with patients and colleagues with a high level of empathy, respect, and professionalism.
- Clearly communicate instructions to patients, alleviating their concerns and ensuring cooperation.
- Present all relevant information to the physician prior to the start of exams.

Qualifications:
- Completion of formal training in an MRI-related program accredited by ARRT or ARMRIT is required.
- Must hold registry in each specialty when rotating between two or more.
- A strong performance review rating is necessary for promotion eligibility.

Licensure and Certifications:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or ARMRIT MR Certification with a secondary ARRT registry is required.
- Maintain two imaging registries/certifications and competency as mandated by the hiring business unit.
- CPR certification based on AHA standards, including both didactic and skills demonstration components, is required within 30 days of hire.
- Additional clearances and certifications are necessary as per regulatory requirements.
