Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Design Engineer to join our team at Prosum. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing industrial site development, pipeline improvement, and renewable energy systems projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Assist in the design and construction of civil engineering projects, including facility site development, drainage improvements, roads, accessways, and structural foundations.
  • Project Planning and Management: Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects, and manage, import, and create 3D surfaces from aerial and topographic site survey data in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Hydraulic and Hydrology Design: Plan and design hydraulic and hydrology systems, including pipeline hydraulics and stormwater management.
  • Engineering Calculations: Compute engineering calculations, such as surcharge load and grade requirements, hydrology flow parameters, and pipeline hydraulics, to determine design specifications.
  • Project Coordination: Assist with construction and maintenance activities at project sites, and manage relatively small projects.
  • Team Collaboration: Assist Senior Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Principals in the delivery of larger projects, and direct draftspersons and technicians to convert designs to working drawings.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience: 3-7 years related experience.
  • Certifications: EIT certification is desired, with a goal to sit for the California PE exam.
  • Skills: Strong working knowledge of and proficiency in CAD design tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D), general knowledge of earthwork design, site drainage, and grading site development, and ability to visit local project sites for data gathering and construction support with occasional travel to client facilities.
