About the RoleAs a Staff Nurse in the 3W Transplant Unit, you will provide exemplary teamwork, compassionate, and detail-oriented clinical skills to treat solid organ transplant patients and multi-specialty patients. You will work with physicians who are constantly pushing the bounds of possibility forward, conducting groundbreaking research and providing lifesaving, personalized patient care.
Responsibilities- Utilize appropriate assessment skills to determine patient needs
- Develop a plan of care for those patients whose needs do not require the expertise of a Case Manager or collaborate with the Case Manager to develop a plan of care for specified patients
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as assigned by Care Center Director or Patient Care Manager
- Provide support to peers by assisting as needed, being a resource person, and working as a team member
- Assist Care Center in development/attainment of goals and objectives
- Use clinical pathways and/or plans of care incorporating standards of practice
- Assess own need for professional growth and development and seek appropriate resources to meeting needs
- Attend continuing education programs and participate in program evaluation
- Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- Associate Degree Nurses are required to enroll in a BSN program within six (6) to nine (6) months of hire, and make progress toward and complete their BSN degree within 30 months. ADN nurses receive 100% tuition reimbursement towards a BSN degree from an accredited program
- Current Illinois RN license
- Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
