About the Role

Mesa Associates, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing a PDS 6/ Power Delivery Substation project, ensuring timely completion, and meeting client expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate projects by completing project initiation documents, including detailed work scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Define project scope and level of detail required to satisfy customer expectations and project requirements.
  • Maintain project status by keeping the project status reporting system current with actions and changes.
  • Lead assigned project teams and subcontractors, ensuring project goals are achieved and business processes are followed.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering/design work for projects.
  • Perform reviews of completed project work to check for errors.
  • Serve as Engineer of Record for projects requiring a PE Stamp.
  • Control costs by assisting the Project Manager in controlling project expenditures and schedule performance.
  • Maximize project profitability through appropriate budgeting, resource utilization, and cost controls.
  • Communicate effectively with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to facilitate coordination and technical information flow.
Requirements
  • BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college/university.
  • 6 years of relevant project experience.
  • Tangible multi-year experience leading substation design projects.
  • Experience using AutoCAD Electrical to complete P&C design packages.
