About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our team at GreenState Credit Union. As a key member of our Information Technology department, you will be responsible for leading and developing advanced statistical analysis, machine learning, and data mining techniques to extract valuable insights from complex data.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead Advanced Data Analysis: Develop and implement machine learning models and algorithms to predict member behavior, assess credit risk, detect fraud, and optimize business processes.
  2. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with business analysts, data engineers, and IT professionals to design and implement data-driven solutions that address business challenges and opportunities.
  3. Procure and Analyze Data: Procure datasets from internal and external sources, including SQL Server databases, APIs, and third-party vendors, and work with architecture and engineering teams to develop necessary datasets for machine learning.
  4. Communicate Insights: Communicate findings and recommendations to key stakeholders, including executives, managers, and business partners, through compelling data visualizations, reports, and presentations.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) preferred.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or quantitative analysis, with a focus on the financial industry.
  3. Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL, as well as data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
  4. Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of statistical methods, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques, with experience applying them to real-world problems in the financial services industry.
