Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH). As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound exams and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and verify patient identification and prepare patients for exams
  • Operate ultrasound-imaging equipment to acquire images and provide initial interpretations to physicians
  • Review patient charts to obtain relevant clinical history, test results, and laboratory data
  • Deliver patient care under the scope of your license and training
  • Utilize universal precaution techniques and safety protocols to ensure patient safety
Requirements
  • Graduation from an AMA-accredited Ultrasound Program with a minimum of 12 months' full-time clinical ultrasound experience
  • ARDMS certification or equivalent
  • Registration in all institution-accredited specialties within specified timeframes
Skills and Abilities
  • Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients under physical and emotional stress
  • Analytical abilities to acquire and utilize knowledge of imaging processes, techniques, and procedures
  • Ability to adapt to changing pace and frequent interruptions
  • Positive attitude and professional appearance
Working Conditions

Normal teaching clinical hospital environment with exposure to high-frequency sound waves, possibility of contact with infectious diseases and bodily fluids, and standing and walking most of the day.
