This role combines the skills of a General Dermatologist and a Mohs Surgeon, requiring a comprehensive understanding of skin health and the ability to provide specialized care to patients with diseases of the skin, hair, nails, and mucous membranes. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well-being, utilizing quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes, or work flows. Key Position Details
• Well-established medical dermatology program with a large primary care and specialty referral base, offering flexibility to build your own clinic scheduling template and set your own hours.
• Patient volume: 10-12 MOHS cases per week, with plans to gradually increase to full-time MOHS over the next 2-3 years. Average 25-30 general dermatology office visit/procedure per clinic day.
• Newly renovated MOHS surgery facilities and a collegial team of physicians and providers.
• Ability to practice cosmetic dermatology and establish new programs, with a physician-led department structure and dedicated operations support.
• Clinical staff who act as scribes.
Responsibilities
- Direct Patient Care
- Reviews patient's medical history while collecting, prioritizing, and synthesizing comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
- Provides specialized care to patients with diseases of the skin, hair, nails, and mucous membranes.
- Evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with benign and malignant disorders of the integumentary system as well as sexually transmitted diseases.
- Evaluates, interprets, and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care.
- Provides education, consultation, or intervention to patients (treatment plan) and their families.
- Works collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well-being.
- Practices in a thoughtful manner, including consideration for cultural diversity, individual autonomy, and legal responsibilities.
- Charts in electronic format in accordance with licensure and scope.
- Actively participates in a multidisciplinary team approach to case management.
- May provide care in an ambulatory clinic, inpatient, or outpatient hospital setting.
- May participate in on-call rotation.
- Quality
- Utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes, or work flows.
- May participate in peer review and quality assurance.
- Other duties as assigned.
