ABOUT THE POSITION
As a Technician, you will deliver outstanding customer service by maintaining and repairing material handling equipment at customer locations or within our branch facilities. This role involves performing mechanical repairs to ensure equipment operates at peak performance, thus providing our customers with effective and efficient solutions. Recent graduates from technical schools with backgrounds in automotive or diesel repair are highly encouraged to apply.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Diagnose, repair, inspect, and maintain all material handling equipment assigned to you.
- Receive repair orders from the Service Writer.
- Communicate with customers regarding necessary repairs and obtain their approvals.
- Analyze work orders and observe equipment in operation to identify issues.
- Propose solutions that meet customer specifications.
- Provide estimates as needed.
- Repair, service, or recondition equipment as authorized by the customer or Service Manager.
- Coordinate with the Parts department to acquire necessary components.
- Conduct thorough inspections and make mechanical repairs based on findings.
- Document detailed repair descriptions on work orders, including model and serial numbers.
- Obtain customer signatures and communicate completed work or further repair needs.
- Inspect safety devices and make necessary adjustments.
- Lubricate moving parts and test repaired equipment for compliance with specifications.
- Maintain a professional appearance and cleanliness of your service vehicle and work area.
- Operate and maintain shop tools and equipment.
- Report safety concerns or incidents to the Service Manager or Supervisor immediately.
- Deliver quality work efficiently and professionally.
- Support marketing initiatives to enhance parts, service, equipment, and rental sales.
- Complete service forms and submit them to the Service department daily via work tablet.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; a CDL may be necessary.
- Experience in forklift repair is preferred; intermediate maintenance experience is essential.
- Ability to read and interpret safety manuals, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Effective communication skills with customers and team members.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must provide personal tools for the job; an annual tool incentive is available.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- 3+ years of mechanical experience or relevant education.
- Basic computer and internet software knowledge.
