About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Akumin. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the safe administration of radiation treatments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver radiation treatment according to written prescription and treatment plan, ensuring safety through consistent practice of departmental procedures.
  • Provide a caring and supportive environment for patients, visitors, medical staff, and co-workers.
  • Document treatment records accurately and thoroughly, recognizing deviations from prescribed treatment delivery and reporting to the Chief Therapist and/or Physicist.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff, explaining treatment procedures and responding to patient concerns.
  • Independently perform patient simulations, collecting and documenting data, and making recommendations to physicians.
  • Assist with treatment-related procedures, including transporting patients, reviewing charts, and ordering supplies.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or College/Technical Certification in ARRT Accredited Radiation Therapy Program.
  • ARRT (T) certification.
  • State licensure, if applicable.
  • CPR certification.
  • One (1) year minimum experience as Radiation Therapist.
Working Conditions

The Radiation Therapist will work in a standard office environment, with potential exposure to radioactive isotopes, ionizing radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease. The employee must be able to have full mobility and ability to participate in vigorous activity, including walking, lifting, and transferring patients.
