Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and manage the assigned commodity effectively.
  • Capitalize on market opportunities by leveraging freight and product price differentials.
  • Oversee logistics for products transported by truck and rail.
  • Maintain daily cash position reconciliations.
  • Analyze and comprehend freight cost variations.
  • Conduct transactions within the defined position limits and adhere to company policies.
  • Provide timely price updates to clients.
  • Manage overfills and underfills on grain contracts.
  • Assist in identifying and nurturing new market prospects.
  • Participate in industry events to gain insights into market dynamics and foster customer relationships.
  • Utilize established company resources to coordinate business activities.
  • Leverage existing knowledge of nutrition and customer relations as applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, finance, or agriculture is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the agricultural sector related to merchandising, sales, or marketing.
  • Understanding of market risk within the agriculture industry.
  • Strong familiarity with logistics involving truck and rail transportation.
  • Capability to develop, plan, and implement business strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
