Responsibilities of the Medical Imaging Specialist:

- Capture x-ray images of designated body areas as instructed by the physician or radiologist, ensuring high-quality and accurate results.

- Guide and position patients for x-ray procedures effectively.
- Conduct x-ray examinations using portable equipment as required by the Emergency Department and nursing units.
- Process imaging films for radiologist review in accordance with established protocols.

- Maintain patient rooms by changing linens, restocking supplies, and ensuring a clean and efficient workspace.

- Safeguard patients from unnecessary radiation exposure by utilizing protective measures.

- Prepare and assist in administering contrast agents, monitoring dosages, and assessing potential allergies in line with departmental policies.

- Ensure accurate patient records by managing film jackets and filing reports appropriately.

- Maintain imaging and processing equipment through regular cleaning and testing, documenting results, and reporting any malfunctions.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.

- Successful completion of an accredited radiological training program and eligibility for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is essential.

- A current license/certification in the state of practice is mandatory.
- Basic Life Support Certification is required or must be obtained within one month of employment.

- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a similar healthcare setting is preferred.
