We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

• Implement and communicate the age-specific plan of care and provide thorough reports at change of shift and relief time.
• Participate in turnover activities and room setup for each surgical procedure, including connection of suction, electrical cords, power cables, and electrocautery.
• Monitor each case to ensure all infection control measures are met and all sterilization is adhered to.
• Establish and maintain a sterile field and monitor the aseptic technique of the surgical team.
• Perform sponge, sharp, and instrument counts with the RN according to policy.
• Ensure appropriate and safe use of equipment and instrumentation prior, during, and post-operatively.
• Assist the surgeon with patient care procedures, including proper labeling of all specimens from the surgical field.

• Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Surgical Technologist or in a clinical setting.
• Successful completion from a nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologist, and holds and maintains a certified surgical technologist (CST) credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
• Ability to function effectively in emergency situations.
