As an Optometrist with Kaiser Permanente, you will provide high-quality visual examinations, including detection and differential diagnosis of abnormal visual, ocular, and systemic conditions. You will provide comprehensive optometric care services to our members, upholding Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures, and adhering to state, federal, and local laws.
Key Responsibilities- Provide treatment of the visual system within the scope of optometric licensure, including writing prescriptions for ophthalmic spectacles, contact lenses, orthoptics, and non-optical aids.
- Conduct additional specialized testing and therapy, such as contact lens examinations, visual fields, tonometry, orthoptics, low vision evaluation, fluorescein angiography, and ocular photography.
- Maintain compliance with all current organizational, state, and federal regulations pertaining to Optometry.
- Report and coordinate with Coordinating Optometrists to ensure member satisfaction and promote financial viability of the Permanente Vision Services Program.
- Work effectively as a team member with other areas of Vision Services, including Optical Lab and Optical Dispensing.
- Promote member satisfaction by ensuring the provision of a high level of quality of service and care.
- Graduate of a school or college of Optometry accredited by the California State Board of Optometry.
- Optometrist License (California).
- National Provider Identifier.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of and apply the principles, theories, practices, and techniques of optometric practice, including anatomy, physiology, pathology, and mechanics of the human eye, visual processes, and detailed knowledge of ocular pharmacology and therapeutics.
- Completion of a one (1) year ACOE accredited residency program.
