The Sanitation Operations Leader plays a pivotal role in guiding the sanitation team to ensure exceptional standards in the cleaning and sanitization of production equipment. This position emphasizes adherence to safety protocols, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), FDA regulations, and internal company policies.

Your Responsibilities

As the Sanitation Operations Leader, you will oversee daily cleaning and sanitization tasks related to product contact components and entire production lines. Your role will involve:

  • Leading a team to maintain safe working practices, including proper chemical handling and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Possessing a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment design to facilitate effective cleaning and sanitization.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as production, quality assurance, and engineering to resolve issues in a constructive and professional manner.
  • Enhancing cleaning procedures to optimize efficiency and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Recommending improvements in equipment and cleaning methodologies.
  • Creating work schedules and allocating tasks based on operational needs.
  • Coaching team members to uphold performance standards and conducting evaluations as necessary.
  • Planning and coordinating cleaning projects in conjunction with engineering and production departments.
  • Managing the procurement of cleaning supplies while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required.
  • Working closely with quality assurance to identify potential contamination sources and develop new procedures.

Qualifications for Success

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with 2-3 years of experience in quality assurance, including 1-2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with documentation practices related to GMP and quality standards.
  • Strong communication skills, with a focus on professionalism and quality orientation.
  • Knowledge of safe handling of hazardous materials and basic principles of continuous improvement methodologies.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
  • Understanding of hygienic equipment design and basic chemistry and microbiology principles.
