Job Summary

This position provides patient care of a therapeutic technical nature, performing advanced therapeutic interventional endoscopy procedures that support and assist the work of the physician, RN, and Endoscopy Team for the good of the patient. The role is responsible for the care of instrumentation before, during, and after endoscopy procedures, ensuring that equipment is working properly and reporting any issues to the relevant authorities.

Key Responsibilities

Assists the physician with diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound procedures, ERCP, fine needle aspiration with slide preparation, biliary and pancreatic duct stents, esophageal stents, manometric procedures, esophageal dilations, specimen collection, and other related procedures.

Cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes instrumentation used during endoscopic procedures, maintaining a high level of hygiene and safety standards.

Provides technical skills as a member of the interventional endoscopy team, communicating effectively with supervisors, other staff, physicians, and anesthesiologists to ensure seamless patient care.

Requirements

Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Documentation of Anatomy/Physiology class, microbiology class, and basic computer skills from an accredited institution is required. Six months of experience as an endoscopy technician performing ERCP is required upon hire. Current CPR certification by AHA standards is required upon hire, and SGNA Associates Program Certification is required within 6 months of hire.
