Primary Responsibilities:
The Cardiac Catheterization Technician is responsible for:
1. Patient Care:
Providing comprehensive patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, including:
- Conducting EKGs and assisting with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization within the department.
- Monitoring patient conditions and addressing their needs promptly.
2. Technical Support:
Offering technical assistance during catheterization procedures, which includes:
- Setting up necessary equipment and ensuring all supplies are readily available.
- Connecting patients to monitoring devices accurately.
- Assisting in the preparation and cleaning of procedure rooms.
3. Communication:
Effectively communicating with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure a seamless care experience.
4. Safety and Infection Control:
Adhering to safety protocols and infection control measures to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
5. Personal Accountability:
Demonstrating responsibility for job performance and participating in ongoing education to enhance skills.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Radiology Technologist registration or CCI credential preferred.
- Previous experience in a Cath Lab setting is advantageous.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
