Internship Overview

This internship is designed for qualified candidates to engage in a structured learning program that may lead to a full-time position similar to the one outlined below. Please note that participants in the DoD SkillBridge program will not receive compensation from AMPI, as they will continue to receive military pay and benefits.

Key Responsibilities

The following duties are essential to this role and may be adjusted as necessary:

  • Report any safety, food safety, and quality concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain heightened awareness of food safety and quality standards.
  • Support Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives by training and enforcing compliance with safety protocols.
  • Administer ongoing training programs in accordance with OSHA regulations to foster safe work practices.
  • Oversee industrial hygiene programs, including medical evaluations and monitoring of workplace contaminants.
  • Manage waste inspection and disposal processes, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Document and monitor EHS metrics, including noise levels and environmental samples.
  • Implement the company’s drug and alcohol testing program in line with legal requirements.
  • Conduct EHS compliance inspections and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Utilize knowledge of safety regulations to manage various safety programs.
  • Enhance safety awareness through internal communications and training sessions.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and quality assurance teams to improve safety and food quality.
  • Identify potential hazards through facility audits and implement corrective measures.
  • Manage workers' compensation claims and ensure thorough investigations and corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records for OSHA and environmental compliance.
  • Facilitate effective communication regarding safety initiatives among all employees.
