Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Transport Engineer to join our team at Insight Global. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating all fiber-based solutions to support new technologies via upgrades and new construction locations for the Illinois Wisconsin Verizon team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, and execute IP assignment and management for fiber connectivity projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including RF Design team, Network Assurance, Construction, Real estate, and Telco Vendors, to optimize fiber designs of new and existing technologies.
  • Work with a group of peer transport engineers to evaluate the optimization of the transport network, including fronthaul, backhaul, and microwave networks.
  • Create, design, and issue Work Orders and engineer new cell sites and existing MSC growth with LTE and C-band carrier additions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 3 or more years of transport design experience in the cellular/telecommunications industry.
  • Knowledge in CWDM/DWDM Optical Transport systems, including Ciena, Nokia, and Cisco.
  • Experience with Dark Fiber vendors, ordering processes, and network portfolio maps.
  • Self-motivated, shows initiative, and able to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% for coordination of circuit deliveries.
