We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Hidalgo Co. as a Custodial Worker. This is an entry-level position that involves performing custodial functions such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, spray waxing, and floor stripping. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform custodial functions such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, spray waxing, and floor stripping
  • Perform rest room maintenance, replenishing supplies and applying cleaning chemicals as appropriate
  • Perform carpet maintenance
  • Clean office furniture, walls, windows, and floors; and empty trash
  • May inspect buildings for cleanliness and report needed repairs as appropriate
Requirements
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent (GED)
  • Experience in custodial work preferred
  • Must have a current valid Texas motor vehicle operator's license
  • Must be able to be insured by the County's insurance carrier
