Position Overview: The Psychiatric APRN will report directly to the Associate Medical Director and will be responsible for the comprehensive psychiatric care of our clients. This role includes conducting psychiatric evaluations and follow-ups, ensuring that our clients receive the highest standard of care. The APRN will embody the values of our organization, promoting a collaborative and supportive atmosphere that values the contributions of all team members, including both staff and clients.
Qualifications:
  • Current APRN Licensure and Certification in the relevant state, with adherence to ongoing licensure requirements.
  • Proficient in de-escalating potentially volatile situations.
  • Valid CPR and Standard First Aid Certification.
  • Demonstrated experience in a team-oriented environment.
  • Background in addiction treatment, mental health, and homelessness, or a willingness to learn about the systemic challenges faced by our clients.
  • X waiver and DEA license are required.
Essential Skills:
  • Strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Proficient in utilizing EMR and information systems for effective client care documentation.
Key Abilities:
  • Ability to monitor health issues and make referrals for specialized care as necessary.
  • Quick analytical skills to assess situations and apply sound judgment.
  • Ensure all documentation is objective and non-judgmental.
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations within 24 hours of client admissions and manage follow-ups as scheduled.
  • Assess client needs and ensure they are met to the best of our capabilities.
  • Facilitate debriefing sessions regarding incidents and client assessments to encourage open communication.
  • Maintain consistent communication with leadership to enhance the quality of care provided.
  • Report any adverse medication reactions to the appropriate authorities.
  • Discuss potential side effects of medications with clients.
  • Provide on-call support as needed.
Additional Characteristics:
  • Ensure critical information is communicated effectively among team members.
  • Recent Criminal Record Check is required.
  • Maintain a non-judgmental attitude.
  • Participate in quality assurance audits and peer reviews.
  • Fulfill all other assigned duties.
  • Willingness to provide psychiatric cross-coverage to other facilities as needed.
