About the Job
This position is responsible for maintaining the organization's facilities in a safe and clean condition. The Facilities Maintenance Worker I reports to the Facility Maintenance Manager and works in the Department of Facility Maintenance.

Responsibilities
* Ensure safe operation of all tools and use of personal protective equipment
* Ensure work tools/supplies are properly maintained and safely stored after each job/task
* Familiarize self with safety data sheets (SDS) at each facility
* Report job hazards and other safety concerns to the supervisor or Chief Administrative Officer
* Organize and plan daily work tasks, assemble and transport required tools and equipment

Requirements
* High school degree or equivalent
* Seven years of experience in facility maintenance, including hand tools and basic understanding of building materials, painting, mechanical and electrical systems
* Knowledge of lockout/tag-out procedures and SDS
* Basic math skills and ability to track daily/monthly tasks and manage workflow

Physical Requirements
This position requires regular lifting and/or moving up to 40 lbs. using proper lifting procedures. Vision to read printed materials and computer screen. Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
