Position Overview

The Lead Bartender serves as a pivotal figure in the bartending team, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for guests through exceptional service and leadership. This role demands a blend of style and hospitality, essential for crafting memorable guest interactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a warm and professional welcome to guests, ensuring their needs are met with care and attention.
  • Accurately input orders into the MICROS/POS System, adhering to the chef's standards for food and beverage service.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the menu, including food and beverage offerings, to enhance guest experience through informed recommendations.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding specials, dietary restrictions, and guest requests.
  • Utilize suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Manage cash transactions in accordance with established hotel policies.
  • Verify guest identification to ensure compliance with age restrictions for alcohol consumption.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, ensuring it is well-stocked and presentable.
  • Address guest service needs promptly and professionally.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment through effective communication with team members.
  • Oversee the training and onboarding of new bartending staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with management and culinary teams to innovate cocktail offerings.
  • Adhere to all hotel policies and procedures while performing other assigned duties.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Preferred certifications include BarSmarts or equivalent training, along with a California Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certification.

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform various physical tasks associated with bartending duties.

Work Environment

Employees may encounter varying weather conditions and noise levels typical of a vibrant hospitality setting.
