Our team of 1,900 loss prevention engineers provides clients with the benefit of FM's superior financial strength, policy coverage, and research-based consulting.

As a Consultant Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work independently and make a difference in the future of your clients. You will leverage your engineering background to help clients neutralize potential disasters such as fires, explosions, earthquakes, floods, and many others.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Performing site assessments of physical properties, including roofs
  • Conducting evaluations of site water supplies, dust hazards, chemical storage, and rack storage arrangements for client products
  • Ensuring that FM Engineering Standards are followed and communicating recommendations and/or engineering solutions to clients
  • Working from a home office and traveling to clients' facilities daily (overnight travel expected approximately 20% of the time)

Successful Consultant Engineer candidates will have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, zero to five years of industry experience, strong verbal and written communication skills, good analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, efficient time management ability with minimal supervision, solid technical aptitude, ability to stay focused from a home office environment, authorization to work in the country, physical ability to lift 25 pounds, and proficiency in MS Office products.
