Caregiver Trainee

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Mental Health Technician Trainee to join our team at the Shapiro Developmental Center in Kankakee, Illinois. As a Mental Health Technician Trainee, you will provide care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, assisting with daily living skills, participating in training classes, and ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care services, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Assist with educational, social, vocational, and therapeutic activities.
• Participate in on-the-job training classes to gain knowledge and skills.
• Ensure compliance with Illinois Department of Public Health requirements.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to physically restrain individuals as necessary.
• Ability to work after business hours, weekends, and holidays.
