Job Title: Seal Coat Laborer

At Rose Paving, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Seal Coat Laborer to join our team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for coordinating daily activities, performing physical labor, and operating maintenance equipment at parking lots.

Responsibilities:
  • Communicate daily with the designated Project Manager to ensure project status is up-to-date.
  • Take photos of jobs, including warranties and accidents, to maintain a record of activities.
  • Ensure proper signage is displayed at each jobsite and collect signs after completion.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and pre-job checklists to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Enter data on Job Sheets for material, equipment, and labor costs for Seal Coat operations.
  • Monitor weather conditions daily to plan and adjust work schedules accordingly.
  • Implement effective traffic control measures at job sites, including signs, barricades, and caution tape.
  • Prevent overweight tickets by ensuring company trucks are loaded correctly.
  • Install materials according to manufacturer specifications for product application.
  • Complete work within Rose Paving standards and maintain a high level of quality.
  • Evaluate situations and suggest improvements to working conditions and equipment usage to increase crew efficiency.
  • Act as a problem solver to reduce work issues and assist workers in resolving challenges.
  • Estimate crew hours required for assignment completion and coordinate with other supervisors to ensure smooth activity.
  • Build customer relationships by introducing yourself to clients upon arrival at the jobsite.
  • Operate within budgetary constraints and requisition necessary tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Maintain a service and maintenance program for all equipment.
  • Participate in the company's employee evaluation program and follow all company policies.
  • Encourage and initiate cross-training when appropriate and investigate continuing education opportunities for personal and crew development.
  • Enforce personal and field safety protection while working, including safety glasses, gloves, and hardhats.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or one to three years of related experience and/or training.
  • Broad understanding of Rose Paving's business and proven abilities in Seal Coating preparation and installation, as well as a thorough understanding of other services offered by the company.
  • Ability to apply basic geometry concepts.
