Job Summary

The University of Arizona is seeking a Recycling Laborer to join our team at Higheredmilitary. As a Recycling Laborer, you will be responsible for performing duties of routine manual labor primarily related to recycling functions and waste management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate balers, compactors, power washers, and various vehicles.
  • Place and pick up barricades.
  • Drive a University truck and pick up and unload materials and equipment at job sites.
  • Provide labor for other trades, install campus signage and fencing, and clean shops and job sites.
  • Pick up and deliver recycling containers throughout campus, sort various materials for recycling, and assist with promotion and education of recycling programs.
  • Lift or move equipment in excess of 50 lbs and work in extreme temperatures, wet, smelly, and dirty conditions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience.
  • Valid Arizona driver's license upon employment and at least 2 years of licensed driving experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include one year of experience in a recycling program, forklift certification, experience in collecting, transporting, sorting, and baling recyclable materials, good communication skills, ability to follow schedules and meet deadlines, and ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with 40 hours worked per week.
  • Benefits eligible, including health, dental, and vision insurance plans, life insurance, and disability programs.
