Position Overview:

The Specialist IV - System Analyst and System Support plays a crucial role in enhancing the operational efficiency of the Financial Aid Department.

Job Classification:

This role is classified as Non-Exempt and falls under the Technical/Para-Professional category.

Salary Information:

The position is designated as pay grade 09.

Educational Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline is required. Relevant coursework in Computer Science is advantageous. Candidates should possess a minimum of two years of pertinent work experience or equivalent experience in a related domain. A combination of education, experience, and training that meets the necessary knowledge and skills may also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

The incumbent will:

  • Execute advanced specialist functions within the Financial Aid Department.
  • Assist in analyzing office automation requirements for the Financial Aid office.
  • Conduct system evaluations, including troubleshooting, data cleansing, and repairing database components associated with various software systems.
  • Respond to information inquiries and manage complex data sets.
  • Develop and implement processes for data maintenance, testing, and development.
  • Conduct research and prepare documentation for information dissemination.
  • Prepare and distribute reports for administrative and regulatory purposes.
  • Serve on committees as required.
  • Design and maintain SQL queries to automate Financial Aid operations.
  • Interpret and communicate relevant Federal and State regulations for software implementation and upgrades.
Additional Requirements:

In-depth knowledge of university systems, policies, and procedures is essential. The ability to address operational challenges and propose process enhancements is crucial.

Remote work options may be available during off-peak periods, as determined by supervisory discretion.
