Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavior Therapist to join our clinical team. As a Behavior Therapist, you will work closely with our Behavior Consultant and BCBA to develop and implement behavior plans and interventions that promote positive behavior change and skill development in children.
Responsibilities- Implement behavior therapy with children diagnosed with autism and related developmental disabilities, in collaboration with our clinical team.
- Build strong relationships with children and their families, making learning fun and engaging.
- Implement behavior plans and interventions as directed by the Behavior Consultant and BCBA.
- Target skills goals as directed by the clinical supervisor and collaborate with parents on teaching skills goals.
- Collect data on the child's behaviors and progress with goals, as directed by the clinical supervisor.
- Collaborate with the clinical team during team meetings and participate in ongoing trainings and in-service sessions.
- Log all hours worked, obtain signatures from authorized guardians, and submit timesheets on time.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment throughout the Center.
- Lead group ABA sessions.
This position requires working in various environments, including clients' homes, schools, and the Dream Big Children's Center. While we strive to create a comfortable work environment, some conditions may be beyond our control. If you are uncomfortable in a particular environment, please let us know, and we will work with you to find a solution.
Physical RequirementsThis role requires frequent lifting and carrying objects up to 10 pounds, as well as standing, walking, running, squatting, bending, and kneeling. We are committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in psychology or a related field from an accredited institution (preferred) or enrollment in a degree program leading to a degree in psychology or a related field.
- At least 6 months of experience working with children with autism in an educational or therapy setting.
- Complete TB test and livescan clearance.
