Position Overview

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a Vitreoretinal Specialist to join our esteemed team. This role is integral to our commitment to providing exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of the visual system to identify the nature and extent of ocular conditions.
  • Perform advanced ophthalmic surgical procedures, including vitrectomy and other specialized vitreoretinal surgeries.
  • Diagnose and manage injuries, disorders, and diseases affecting the eye, with a primary focus on retinal conditions.
  • Document and analyze patient medical histories to inform treatment decisions.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests to guide clinical decisions.
  • Provide postoperative care and follow-up as necessary.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient histories, goals, and the severity of conditions.
  • Prescribe and administer medications to address ophthalmic issues and manage patient discomfort.
  • Utilize laser technology for surgical interventions to modify or repair ocular tissue.
  • Educate patients on maintaining and promoting optimal vision health.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Refer patients to specialized services when conditions exceed the scope of practice.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an ophthalmology residency and a fellowship in retina is required.
  • Preferred candidates will have surgical training and experience following fellowship completion.

  • Compensation: $180.00 per hour.
