**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at the Richmond Behavioral Health Authority. In this role, you will work closely with clients in our crisis stabilization unit, providing essential support and care to ensure their safety and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients
- Monitor clients' activities of daily living, including eating, sleeping, and hygiene habits
- Facilitate group sessions and complete documentation as required
- Perform direct client service duties, such as greeting clients and orienting them to the unit
- Assist with laundry duties and maintain the cleanliness of the unit
- Engage with clients through verbal support and complete progress notes
- Coordinate discharges with the case management team
- Complete shift reports and perform other administrative tasks as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, or a related field
- At least one year of experience working with seriously mentally ill individuals
- Ability to solve problems within scope of responsibility and exercise sound judgment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
