Neurosurgical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Neurosurgical Assistant to join our team at Prisma Health. As a key member of our neurosurgery department, you will provide exceptional support to our surgeons and patients, ensuring the highest level of care and patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Provide general surgical assistance in the operating room, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff.
- Assist surgeons with prepping and completing procedures, maintaining a high level of attention to detail and precision.
- Remove drains, tubes, and catheters, and close incisions with precision and care.
- Assist with patient office visits and assume call responsibilities when assigned, demonstrating a commitment to patient care and satisfaction.
- Perform all charting, summaries, correspondence, and required paperwork, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient care and billing.
- Participate in physician educational programs, staying up-to-date on the latest medical advancements and best practices.
- Contribute to the development of quality assurance programs, utilization management programs, and patient education surveys, enhancing the overall quality of patient care.
- Assist in the development of operational and capital budgets, identifying opportunities for revenue enhancement and expense reduction.
- Participate in operational assessments, seeking out opportunities for improvement and growth.
- Assist in post-operative care, including daily rounds and wound assessments, ensuring a smooth and efficient recovery process.
- Master's Degree in Nursing or Nurse Practitioner Degree Emphasis or Program Certificate equivalent.
- 1 year of clinical experience.
- Completion of a Nurse Practitioner Surgical Residency Program.
- Patient equipment skills, including vitals, suction, and defibrillation.
- Surgical assistant skills and experience.
