About the Department:

The Globally Contested Logistics and Supply Chain department (N154) within the Operations in Contested Environment Division (N150) is committed to addressing the logistics and supply chain challenges faced by our nation, particularly within the Department of Defense. Our mission involves preparing for and sustaining power projection in environments where logistics are intentionally threatened.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize a range of analytical methods to address contested logistics issues, including data mining, statistical modeling, predictive analytics, optimization, risk assessment, and data visualization.
  • Analyze military mission capabilities through the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) software, supporting government studies and warfighting analyses.
  • Employ structured problem-solving techniques, operations research methodologies, warfare modeling, and mission-level analysis to investigate high-priority logistics challenges.
  • Innovate new analytical methods to understand the interplay between logistics and military operations.
  • Design, implement, and scope simulation-based experiments to evaluate the impact of various factors on mission outcomes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires less than 1 year of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • A strong interest in leveraging software to tackle complex real-world challenges.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (such as Python, C/C++, Java), experience with analytical tools (such as SAS, MATLAB, R), and database languages (such as SQL).
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site presence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in developing software applications, user interfaces, databases, and embedded software.
  • Prior experience working with the Department of Defense.
