About the Role:

We are seeking a talented Data Science Associate to join our team at Steelcase. As a Data Science Associate, you will work closely with business partners and experts to conceive, design, develop, and deliver solutions to complex and ambiguous problems using data science and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Frame business problems as data problems to be solved with data and algorithms
  • Prepare data for analysis, including data cleansing, harmonization, augmentation, imputation, exploratory data analysis, principal components analysis, feature engineering, reduction, and selection
  • Work with various data types, including structured and unstructured data such as text and image data
  • Apply operations research and management science methods, including mathematical modeling, statistics, and optimization
  • Develop and deploy predictive models, including model training, measurement of model performance, scoring observations, monitoring continued model performance, and scheduling or triggering retraining
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary Agile teams to ensure clarity of product/project demands and quality of product/project delivery

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field, such as Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Predictive Analytics, or Operations Research
  • Prior independent, academic, internship, or work experience in data science or AI is required
  • General knowledge of the manufacturing industry and business functions is preferred
