Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team at Essentia Health in Duluth, MN. As a CRNA, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Performs clinical anesthesia duties and takes appropriate responsibility for direct patient care and for on-call as assigned.

• Prioritizes anesthetic decisions, administers anesthetic agents following protocols and guidelines and communicates patient status to healthcare team members.

• Coordinates duties by facilitating staff coverage, assignments and breaks in the surgical area.

• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span.

• Assesses data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interprets information relative to the patient's age-specific needs.

• Demonstrates leadership through involvement on committees and/team projects, education, and research and actively seeks to improve the practice of nursing through performance improvement initiatives.

• Ensures that the patient and family are partners in the plan of anesthesia care.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and nurse anesthesia.

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist in Minnesota.

• Current certification in CPR, BCLS/ACLS.

• Certified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists.

• Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.

Work Environment:

• St. Mary's Medical Center, 344-bed tertiary hospital – Level I Trauma Center, high acuity – new facility opened July 2023.

• Essentia Health Surgery Center-Miller Hill – 4 OR's.

• St. Mary's Hospital Superior, WI; 2 OR's and 2 Endo Suites (approximately 90% outpatient surgery).

• Essentia Health-Duluth 165-beds, 11 ORs (approximately 80% outpatient cases).

• Outpatient Endoscopy Center.
