Talent Acquisition Role

As a key member of Jerry's Home Improvement Center's HR team, you will play a pivotal role in driving our hiring process forward. This role is primarily responsible for administering the entire hiring process for hourly Stockers, Cashiers, and Sales positions. You will engage with candidates and community organizations to promote Jerry's as an employer-of-choice.

The Job

  • Administer the entire hiring process from posting open jobs to engaging with candidates, conducting screening and in-person interviews, coordinating interviews with internal hiring managers, and welcoming new Team Members on their first day.
  • Oversee Jerry's Field Recruiting program, promoting Jerry's with local schools and organizations, attending recruiting events, and being a spokesperson for Jerry's within the community.
  • Position candidates for success as Team Members by educating them on Jerry's culture, policies, and expectations throughout the hiring process. Serve as a primary source of information about Jerry's pay, benefits, and career opportunities.
  • Utilize our web-based Applicant Tracking System, Excel, and SmartSheets to manage and maintain accurate, up-to-date activity records of hiring, prospecting, program management, and projects.
  • Serve as a reliable, accountable member of a dynamic, fast-moving HR and Training team able to help where help is needed across the team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Prior experience recruiting hourly employees, especially during high-volume periods. At Jerry's, you will be responsible for staffing an average of 400 positions per year, with seasonally high activity from February through June.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving, and time management skills will position you for success in this role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, with an emphasis on Excel and Outlook. Any experience with SmartSheets is a plus.
  • Able to travel locally using your own vehicle for various community events. Mileage is reimbursed. Able to work extended hours during peak hiring season and attend events on some evenings and weekends.
  • Able to enthusiastically represent Jerry's as an employer of choice in our community, to candidates, and to all those with whom you come into contact.

Compensation

  • Hourly compensation starting at $21.00 per hour based on experience. Additional overtime pay during peak hiring season and some evening and weekend events.
  • Full-time position with benefits.

Schedule

  • Typically works Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.
  • Scheduled 40-45 hours weekly, and higher during peak hiring season.
  • Position is based at the Corporate Office in north Eugene, Oregon.
