Physician Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Pediatric Critical Care team at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. As a critical care specialist, you will be responsible for assessing and managing the complex acute, critical, and chronically ill patients in our 24-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and 75-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients for urgent and emergent conditions, utilizing relevant data to evaluate for physiologic instability.
- Formulate a plan of care, performing therapeutic interventions to stabilize acute and critical health problems.
- Analyze indications, contraindications, risk of complications, and cost-benefits of therapeutic interventions.
- Manage the plan of care through evaluation, modification, and documentation according to the patient's response to therapy.
- Incorporate health promotion, health protection, and injury prevention measures into the plan of care.
- Facilitate patient transitions between and within healthcare settings.
- Serve as an educational resource to patients, families, nursing staff, and provider teams.
- Act as a consultant to multidisciplinary healthcare team members.
- Participate in scholarly activities, including research and education.
- Act as a preceptor and mentor to support the development of nurses, nurse practitioners, students, and other healthcare providers.
- Bachelor's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
- Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies preferred.
- Ability to use computer and electronic medical records effectively.
- Basic use of Microsoft Office and web browsing skills.
- IV pumps, point-of-care devices, and CR monitors experience.
- Information management literacy and ability to collect clinical data using quality improvement tools.
