Job Summary

The Trauma Registrar Senior will provide critical support to the Trauma Registry and Trauma Program Director at Christus Health. This role involves data entry, clerical support, and statistical analysis to maintain the Trauma Registry in compliance with state health services requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clerical, statistical, and informational support to the Trauma Service team.
  • Abstract charts and perform quality assurance on patient information with trauma diagnoses.
  • Maintain a database for easy retrieval of trauma statistics and support research and epidemiological studies.
Requirements
  • Complete trauma registry software training within 90 days of employment.
  • Achieve AIS coding certification within 12 months of employment.
  • Participate in a trauma registrar course or equivalent within 12 months of hire.
  • Meet continuing education requirements as per the American College of Surgeons' criteria.
  • Possess a Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS) certification, preferred.
  • Complete an ICD-10 course in trauma within the first year of hire and every five years thereafter.
  • Accrue 24 hours of trauma-related continuing education within the 3-year designation/verification period.
