Systems Engineering Internship at Rocket Lab

Rocket Lab is a global leader in launch and space systems, enabling ambitious space missions globally. Our Electron rocket has provided reliable access to orbit since 2018, and our Neutron rocket will launch mega constellations of the future. Our space systems business includes satellites and components for over 1,700 missions, including the James Webb Space Telescope and NASA's Psyche Mission.
Job DescriptionAs a Systems Engineering Intern at Rocket Lab, you will support the Space Systems Division in shaping our future with Photon, a brand of high-performance satellites. You will work closely with your mentor and other employees to apply your knowledge and grow your skills both technically and professionally.
Key Responsibilities- Work with a fast-paced team to apply engineering and industry concepts to solve real challenges
- Attend frequent 1:1's with mentors and supervisors to facilitate success and learning
- Enjoy tech talks and network with other interns and employees through social and professional events
- Must be enrolled in a bachelor's, master's or doctorate degree program in an engineering, physics or math discipline and have at least one semester of school remaining post internship
- GPA of 3.0 or above
- 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable)
- GPA of 3.5 or above
- 6+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable)
- Experience working with spacecraft hardware or test hardware
- Experience developing and running test scripts for space hardware
- Experience debugging hardware issues on development hardware
- Able to work full-time, on-site for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning January, February, or March 2025
- Pay Range CA: $28.00 USD Hourly
- You may be eligible for a stipend to subsidize relocation costs
Base salary is just one component of our total rewards package at Rocket Lab.
