Physician Assistant

At Barrow Brain & Spine, we are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Interventional Spine team. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our Interventional Spine Physician to evaluate and develop treatment plans for patients suffering from acute and chronic spine and joint pain and dysfunction.
Job Summary:The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical decision making and provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. You will be responsible for examining patients, obtaining medical histories, and assessing health status. Additionally, you will provide chronic patient care, including taking histories, performing physical examinations, monitoring therapies, and prescribing medications.
Responsibilities:- Examine patients, obtain medical histories, and assess health status
- Provide chronic patient care, including taking histories, performing physical examinations, monitoring therapies, and prescribing medications
- Triage patient calls and evaluate patient problems
- Evaluate and assess patients independently under physician supervision and order interventional procedures as indicated
- Document patient information and care provided in the patient record
- Educate patients and families as appropriate
- Monitor therapies and provide continuity of care
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Bachelor's degree and completion of an accredited physician assistant (PA) program
- Valid unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Arizona, with no pending disciplinary actions or restrictions
- DEA and CPR (BLS and ACLS) certification required upon hire
- Minimum of one (1) year experience as a physician assistant in a clinic or hospital
The work is performed in a medical office and exam room settings, procedure room settings, and frequent contact with a variety of people/patients.
