Key Qualifications

  • Valid and unrestricted RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Current Adult CPR and IV Therapy certifications.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a long-term care setting, with at least one year in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Familiarity with Alzheimer's and Dementia care is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive understanding of nursing practices, regulations, and guidelines, particularly those relevant to assisted living and skilled nursing care.
  • Proficient in MS Office and general computer applications.
  • Strong clinical judgment and hands-on nursing skills, capable of delivering urgent care when necessary.
  • Experience with the behavioral and emotional needs of older adults, demonstrating integrity and discretion in handling personal health information.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and supervisory abilities.
  • Capable of interpreting technical documentation and maintaining accurate treatment records.
  • Detail-oriented problem solver with strong organizational skills.
  • Must meet specific physical requirements, including lifting, standing, and other essential job functions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, organize, and implement nursing service programs to address resident medical needs.
  • Facilitate resident admissions in collaboration with families and social services.
  • Monitor resident care and formulate care plans in consultation with medical staff.
  • Maintain professional relationships with healthcare providers.
  • Ensure continuity of care by coordinating nursing services with other resident support services.
  • Manage staffing processes, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Address resident and family concerns effectively.
  • Oversee the procurement and management of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Complete necessary documentation, reports, and evaluations.
  • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures for staff, residents, and visitors.
  • Participate in regulatory surveys, inspections, and training sessions.
  • Engage in Nursing Administration on-call responsibilities.
  • Maintain accountability for resident care around the clock.
  • Respond to emergency situations as required.
  • Attend daily meetings to discuss resident status and related matters.
  • Review reports with nursing staff as needed.
  • Assign daily tasks to nursing personnel.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
