We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Clinician or Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. This is an exciting opportunity to work in our Emergency Medicine department, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive appraisals of patients' health status by taking health histories and performing physical examinations in clinical area.
- Provide direct clinical care to patients, including prescribing and ordering medications, therapies, laboratory tests, x-rays, and procedures according to clinical privileges.
- Evaluate patients to determine their need for further health care and provide comprehensive teaching to patients and families.
- Document all care and education provided in the medical record and refer to other disciplines as appropriate.
- Consult with other disciplines in areas of expertise and integrate research-based knowledge and clinical expertise in decision making.
- Advocate for patients, families, coworkers, and the community, and maintain certifications and continuing education as required for licensure and privileging.
- Must be able to work autonomously and have full autonomy to see and treat a wide variety of patients.
- Must be able to work at multiple locations, including McHenry Hospital, Huntley Hospital, and Woodstock Hospital.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and nights, with a minimum of 12 hours of availability every month.
