Senior Precision Machinist

Job Overview

Farrior Steel Works is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision parts.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year

Responsibilities:

• CNC Machine Operation: Set up and operate CNC machines including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses to manufacture parts accurately.
• Engineering Drawing Interpretation: Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to ensure precise part production.
• Communication: Communicate any discrepancies in prints or specifications to the drafting team.
• Quality Control: Conduct inspection of machined products to ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to prescribed safety procedures.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members to support fabrication and manufacturing tasks.

Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified technical program preferred.
• Experience: Minimum one year of experience operating CNC machines or related equipment.
• Skills: Proficiency in mathematics and technical drawing interpretation, strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Safety: Ability to lift and maneuver objects weighing up to 65 pounds, willingness to comply with safety guidelines and wear required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).

Work Environment:

You will work in a manufacturing setting where you will be exposed to mechanical equipment, noise levels exceeding 100 decibels, and potentially airborne particles. Safety equipment including safety shoes, hard hats, safety glasses, and earplugs are required.
