IT Quality Assurance Manager

The IT Quality Assurance (QA) Manager will lead the offshore QA team, ensuring the effectiveness of quality assurance processes and methodologies. This role is crucial for enhancing testing strategies, developing and maintaining quality and reliability testing systems, and managing resource planning for the organization’s IT systems and products.
This position operates in a hybrid capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a thorough understanding of the entire end-to-end systems and processes to support comprehensive testing requirements.
- Establish and maintain QA processes and methodologies that align with industry best practices and compliance standards.
- Set quality standards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure quality across all initiatives.
- Coordinate testing activities with the QA Team, IT Leads, and key business partners, ensuring effective environment setup and execution of test cases.
- Facilitate test team meetings with relevant stakeholders to provide guidance and support in decision-making.
- Manage the development and implementation of test plans and quality strategies to ensure that deliverables meet required specifications.
- Monitor and report on progress towards goals to senior management.
- Prioritize and oversee various types of testing, including functional, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Identify and analyze recurring issues, bugs, and defects, providing root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions.
- Implement reliable automated testing processes using appropriate tools.
Supervisory Duties:
- Onboard and train offshore quality assurance personnel.
- Lead QA team meetings and oversee daily workflows and testing initiatives.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Support the QA team in understanding systems, policies, and procedures.
- Manage employee discipline and termination in accordance with company policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering trusted partnerships across the organization.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools.
- Experience with testing best practices and defect management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Leadership and supervisory skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with quality management systems.
- Experience with Testing Automation is preferred.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and QA functions within them.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate offshore resources.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Three to five years of experience in a related testing role, including supervisory experience.
- Professional certifications related to quality assurance are preferred.
- Experience in the Retail or Supply Chain industry is advantageous.
