Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Substation Design Engineer to join our team in Chesapeake, VA.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in electrical engineering principles, applicable codes, and standards.

This position involves conceptual, preliminary, and final detailed design of new, upgraded, and expanded substations, including material procurement, construction, and commissioning/startup support through energization.

Responsibilities
  1. Design Development: Develop and deliver physical, electrical, civil, and communication design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits, and specifications.
  2. Project Execution: Assist in executing best-in-class projects, coordinating with subject matter expert discipline groups, and overseeing designers, drafters, and support staff.
  3. Team Collaboration: Work effectively in a team environment, contributing to quality control, and meeting project schedules.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree: In Electrical Engineering required; design engineering experience is a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organization Skills: Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Quality Focus: Commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Licensure: Progress towards PE licensure encouraged.
