The Department of Water Resources is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our Environmental Monitoring Program, you will be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological and water quality samples from the San Francisco Bay-Delta estuary.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and organize field equipment for sampling and data collection
- Assist in the collection, preservation, and processing of biological and water quality samples
- Enter data into online databases and perform quality assurance checks
- Contribute to the preparation of scientific reports and presentations
- Assist technical staff with statistical analysis of ecological data and conduct primary scientific research for special studies
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift and carry field equipment
