Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Florida East Coast Railway. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our diesel fleet trucks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect equipment for damage or failures and perform diagnostics and repair service for equipment component failures.
  • Remove and replace damaged or defective components, and operate support equipment including forklifts, man lifts, and service trucks.
  • Perform basic welds, clean the shop area, and perform stocking functions.
  • Cross-trained to work on cranes and heavy equipment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year's related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A valid Driver's License.
  • Mechanical experience working with diesel engines, technical school a plus.
  • Must comply with established safety rules, policies and procedures, including wearing required safety equipment.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
