Job Overview

Galaxy America, a leading manufacturer in the amusement ride sector, is on the lookout for a skilled Composite Materials Specialist with a robust background in fiberglass fabrication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare mold surfaces by applying wax
  • Utilize gel coat in mold applications
  • Layer fiberglass and resin in molds according to a specified schedule
  • Verify all dies, templates, and cutout patterns against dimensional data, photographs, blueprints, and customer specifications
  • Inspect finished products for adherence to specifications and identify any defects
  • Maintain, clean, and inspect molds regularly
  • Repair or modify any damaged fiberglass components, ensuring proper thickness, density, and fit
  • Use diamond-impregnated cutoff wheels for trimming cured materials
  • Remove excess materials from molds with hand shears or trimming knives

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in fiberglass fabrication
  • Willingness to assist in various departments as required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Physical fitness to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
  • Ability to stoop, bend, and lift regularly
  • Self-motivated with the capability to work independently
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $29.00 per hour

Expected Work Hours: 40 hours per week
