Police Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the Village of Winnetka, IL. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting life and property, and providing excellent customer service to our community.

• Patrol designated areas on foot and in a vehicle to prevent and detect crime, and to enforce laws and regulations.
• Investigate complaints, accidents, and other incidents, and prepare detailed reports.
• Respond to emergency calls, provide assistance, and make arrests as necessary.
• Conduct traffic stops, issue citations, and enforce parking regulations.
• Participate in community policing initiatives, engage with the public, and build relationships with local businesses and residents.
• Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies, and participate in joint investigations and operations.
• Stay up-to-date with changing laws, regulations, and procedures, and attend training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or higher preferred.
• Valid Illinois Law Enforcement Officer certification required.
• Successful completion of Police Officer Wellness Evaluation Report (P.O.W.E.R.) test within 6 months of date of application.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and supplies as needed.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

• Competitive salary range: $73,312 - $103,250.
