Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Morning Dishwasher to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a Morning Dishwasher, you will play a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of our food service areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare all work areas for operation, including setting up, restocking, and cleaning assigned areas.
  • Fills bucket with sanitizing solution and maintains sanitizer strength throughout the shift.
  • Set up and maintain a clean and organized appearance throughout the shift.
  • Gathers utensils based on correct portions and produces and maintains quality food and beverage products.
  • Prepares attractive and appetizing foods utilizing quality ingredients and follows menu cycle and standardized recipes.
  • Correctly portions food and provides quality services to result in customer/patient satisfaction.
  • Greets customers, politely asks for order, and efficiently serves customer.
  • Removes trash from service areas promptly and cleans spills promptly and post appropriate caution signage.
  • Maintains a clean and organized appearance throughout the shift and merchandises area through clean, uncluttered, attractive, and orderly arrangement of work area.
  • Ensures that all activities meet sanitation, safety, and quality control guidelines set forth by departmental policies.
Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and pull a fully loaded patient meal cart (approx. 250 lbs.).
  • Ability to stand for entire shift and work in a noisy setting and under deadline pressures.
  • Ability to effectively work in a hot, cold, and/or wet environment and interact with customers in some assignments.
  • Ability to understand written and oral communication and work with cleaning and dishwashing chemicals.

Additional Information

This is a non-exempt position with a scheduled weekly hours of 40. The shift varies, with the earliest start time being 3:30a and the latest end time being 4p. Every other weekend and rotating holidays are required.
